Boxing results: Usyk's skill trumps fury in Riyadh

Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 12 KO) looked clean 24k goldretaining his WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight titles with a 12-round unanimous decision in his rematch with Tyson Fury (34-2-2, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia.

The fight was mostly a chess match, with Usyk, 37, using plenty of feints and peppering the 281-lb, bulky-looking Fury with heavy left hands to the head. Tyson fought Usyk to a stalemate in the fifth round.

Fury's weight is a factor

In the sixth, Usyk ignited Fury, hitting him repeatedly with left hands to the head and dominating throughout the round.

The extra weight that Fury had put on for the fight seemed to slow him down in the second half of the contest as he looked sluggish and unable to attack as he had in the first fight. Gyspy Knig carried too much fat around his waist. Even with his trunks drawn higher than usual, almost to his chest, you could tell he was unfit for a rematch.

Fury went on the attack in the ninth, which was one of his better rounds. However, they came back strong in the tenth, chasing Fury8 around the ring for the last minute, hitting him with shots and forcing him to hold.

In the 11th and 12th, Usyk was still on the attack and Fury was backing away, trying to tie him up to relax. That was all Fury had left – his injury, and it wasn't going to work this time

Dubois calls Usyk

IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois came to the ring to call Usyk out after the contest. It's not clear who gave him the green light to enter, but it's pretty easy to figure that out. Usyk said he is ready for the fight.

Obviously, Usyk won't get the fight with Anthony Joshua, as he has beaten him twice already, and the third is a shame. Same with Fury. It makes no sense for Turki Alalshikh to create a trilogy between them because Usyk is too good and Fury too old and fat.

After the fight, Fury's promoter was interviewed and said he thought he did enough to win. There wasn't much applause when he said that.
