Shakur Stevenson on Jervonta Davis: 'You should have picked De Los Santos'

Shakur Stephenson says Jervonta Davis should have chosen WBA #3 lightweight contender Edwin De Los Santos as his March 1 opponent instead of super lightweight Lemont Roach.

Stevenson wouldn't say why he thinks WBA 135-lb champion Tank (30-0, 28 KOs) chose De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) as his next challenger, but it's possible he wanted to see him fight against him.

When that happens, Shakur can claim to be on the same level as Tank or better. Look at it this way: Jervonta had to look poor against De Los Santos, which boosts Shakur's value because he looked awful against him running all over creation.
