Promoter Oscar De La Hoya has revealed that he is in talks to host Golden Boy Promotions – a 5v5 Matchroom Boxing event in 2025.
It would be a contest for De La Hoya to pit five of his best Golden Boy fighters against Eddie Hearn's five best guys available. The two fighters will compete to prove who has the best guys.
Golden Boy-Matchroom Showdown
“We continue to have discussions and prepare to do some big things in 2025,” Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV about planning to do a 5v5 competition with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing next year.

De La Hoya already has one of his fighters, Floyd Schofield Jr., challenging Hearn's fighter, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, on Feb. 22 at the Turki Al-Sheikh event in Riyadh. Oscar is confident that Schofield will upset Shakur in this fight.
