- Russia carried out a drone attack on the Ukrainian capital, causing damage in at least two areas, city officials said. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said air defenses repulsed the attack and that debris had started fires in private buildings.
- Ukrainian military intelligence said on Tuesday, one of its naval drones – the Magura V5 maritime drone – destroyed a Russian Mi-8 helicopter and damaged another in the Black Sea.
- The Ukrainian military said on Tuesday that its forces had struck a Russian oil depot in the Smolensk region.
Diplomacy
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said late Tuesday that no one will give his country peace as a gift, but he believes the United States will stand by Kiev as it fights to stop Russia's 34-month invasion.
- Russia's once-dominant gas supplies to Europe through Ukraine, which flowed for decades, ended with the collapse of a deal between the two warring countries that paid billions to Moscow in gas revenues and to Kiev in transit fees.
