Garcia vs. Raleigh, Haney vs. Ramirez, Bakole vs. Ajagba: Times Square Triple Header

Turki Al-Sheikh has just announced that Ryan Garcia will fight former WBA welterweight champion Rolando 'Rolly' Romero, Devin Haney will face Jose Ramirez and Martin Bakole will fight Efe Ajagba on the same card in May. This is expected to be shown on PPV from Times Square in New York.

Triple header battles

  • Ryan Garcia vs. Rolando Romero
  • Devin Haney vs. Jose Ramirez
  • Martin Bakole vs. Efe Ajagba

Haynie (31-0, 15 KOs) gets a tough fight, taking on former WBA and WBO welterweight champion Jose Ramirez (29-2, 18 KOs). I wonder if it was a good idea for Bill Haney to pit Devin against this guy. He may live to regret this fight.

Rolly Romero (16-2, 13 KO) is a surprise opponent for Ryan, as Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz was the name rumored to fight. Romero is considered a one-hit wonder.

Cruz knocked out Raleigh in the eighth round last year on March 30 in a title mismatch. That Ryan will fight Raleigh suggests he doesn't want to take any chances of losing after his long 13-month layoff.

It was a fight that fans would get excited about, but there would be a lot of risk for Garcia because Cruz could really fight. Raleigh has won two of his last four fights and some believe he would have lost a third if not for a freak stoppage in his May 2023 clash against Ismael Barroso.

This was where the referee stopped the fight abruptly after Raleigh landed a flurry of punches, all of them hitting the air. He then raised Raleigh's arm in the air, giving him a knockout victory while Barroso just stood there saying, “What's going on here.” Barroso was not given a rematch, which made it look even worse for Raleigh.
