Andy Lee's Mind Games: Will They Work on Daniel DuBois?

Joseph Parker's trainer, Andy Lee, was trying to put self-doubt in the mind of Daniel Dubois ahead of the title defense of his IBF heavyweight belt in their fight together on February 22 in Riyadh.

Lee reminded Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) that he was stopped by a punch by Alexander Usyk in the ninth round of their fight two years ago on August 26, 2023. in Wroclaw, Poland. Andy thinks if DuBois is stopped once like this, he will stop him “return to type” when put in the same high-pressure situation against Parker (35-3, 23 KOs).

DuBois did not explain why he fell from a blow against Usyk and was unable to stand up. Daniel could only divert saying former middleweight champion Lee might have called it quits under those circumstances during his career, but he won't.

It would be a disaster for Dubois if he quits against Parker because it's a winnable fight for him. Although former WBO champion Parker has scored some good wins recently against 41-year-old Zhilei Zhang and 39-year-old Deontay Wilder, he remains vulnerable.
