“Thousands of Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes at the Jenin refugee camp,” said Salhut, who reported from Jordan, as Al Jazeera was banned by the Palestinian authorities (PA) to make reports in the occupied West Coast.
“The people there say that the Israeli forces want to collapse these Palestinian cities just as they did in Gaza.”
Sources told Al Jazeera that Palestinian fighters also replied to the blows Israelipointing them with an explosive device while traveling along Nazareth Street in Jenin. There are no instant messages of casualties.
In some of the current attacks, the PA security forces participated in the pursuit of Palestinian fighters, including in Tulkarem, Ramala, Hevron and Kalcilla on Friday.
Armed clashes also erupted between Palestinian fighters and PA forces in Yabad, west of Jenin.
The PA security forces have been reported to have brutally beat a number of Palestinian fighters after being arrested.
Al Jazeera's senior political analyst Marwan Bishara said the Israeli government was displacing its focus from gas to the occupied West coast.
He said operations in Jenin and other parts of the occupied West coast serve as a “deviation” from the failures of the Israeli government on October 7th. Bishara added that the operation also creates an opportunity for Israel to Preliminary annexation policiesS
Since the beginning of the Gaza war in October 2023, Israeli forces have increased the size and frequency of their attacks in the occupied West Bank, killing nearly 900 Palestinians and injuring thousands.
Israel claims that the removal of armed Palestinian fighters in the occupied West coast is part of its main goals for the war against Gaza. The UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese warns that Israel's genocide will not limit itself to gas if the military offensive on the west coast does not stop.
