The often wounded Brazilian star, who joined Al Hilal in 2023, left the club with seven months left in his deal.

Neymar split with Al Hilal by mutual agreement, the Saudi pro league champions announced after a disappointing spell at the club for Brazil's best goalkeeper.

The 32-year-old received a knee injury in the qualification of the Brazil World Cup against Uruguay in October 2023 and struggled to return to the best of himself.

“Al Hilal and Neymar Jr. have agreed to terminate the player's contract by mutual agreement,” the Saudi club of X early on Tuesday morning published.

Neymar has only played seven matches for Al Hilal since moving from Paris Saint -Germain (PSG) for a reported fee of about 90 million euros ($ 98 million) in August 2023.

The Brazilian media reported that Neymar, who had scored 79 goals for the national team, would return to his Santos Children's Club after leaving in 2013 to join Barcelona.

Neymar still holds the world record for a football transfer fee of $ 222 million ($ 232 million) after moving to PSG from Barcelona in August 2017.
