Federal judge in the United States temporarily blocked President Donald Trump's order to stop hundreds of billions of dollars Federal grants and loans just minutes before it is planned to take effect on Tuesday.
Judge Loren Alihan has ruled from the US District Court in Washington, Colombia District that the plan should be delayed by 5:00 pm (10:00 pm) on Monday.
Here's what we know about the legitimate battle for the order and other key developments from the last 24 hours of Trump's fast -moving Presidency.
The freezing of funding outlined in a two -page note expired on Monday night, asked the agencies to “temporarily pause all activities related to an obligation or payment of all federal financial aid” until employees guarantee that the programs are in accordance with Trump's policies.
“This temporary pause will provide an administration time to review the Agency's programs and determine the best use of funding for these programs that match the law and priorities of the President,” the note said.
Memo devotes programs related to foreign care; Programs for diversity, justice and inclusion (DEI); transsexual care; and the fight against climate change.
The order is unclear in its scope, so it has created wide confusion about which agencies and programs will be affected. Non -profit groups also sparked it.
New: My staff confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states after last night's freezing of federal funding. It is a screaming attempt to tear health insurance from millions of Americans overnight and will kill people. https://t.co/6cqzqpyooz

Alihan issued a short -term pause, preventing the administration from freezing the funds. Alihan said the pause helps to “maintain the status quo” while she reviews a legal challenge brought by a group of non -profit organizations.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has authorized refusal, so US foreign assistance can still be used for “life -saving” humanitarian aid while other programs are suspended for review.
Some legal experts have suggested that the retention of funding may violate the US Constitution, which provides the Congress of the Bag Power – the authority to distribute government spending and determine the financing of the program.
❗ We did it (for now)! ❗
Our trial was successful – the US District Court blocked Omb to move forward on its reckless plan to stop federal funding.
The stay is until Monday, so much more.
So far – thank you all for your support, partnership and …

Administration officials said the decision was necessary to bring the costs of Trump's recent wave of enforcement orders.
The President aims to strengthen the production of fossil fuels, restore the protection of transgender people and to eliminate initiatives for diversity, justice and inclusion. Trump also stopped foreign help for all countries other than Israel and Egypt.
As a presidential candidate in 2024, Trump said: “I will use the long -recognized power of the president to pull out the inflated federal bureaucracy for massive savings.”
The 1974 detention Act allows the president to temporarily retain funds under specific conditions and for limited periods. He also requires the president to notify Congress. Congress then determines whether to approve the delay or to cancel costs.
In the last two days, the immigration of the Trump administration has led to over 2000 arrests.
According to Tom Cartrait, who monitors the deportation of the US Immigration and Customs Affairs Agency (ICE) as a witness to the border advocacy group, ice deportation flights remain within typical levels of Monday.
Governments of both Mexico and Guatemala have said they have not observed an increase in deportations of migrants since Trump took office.
Separately, the Pentagon allowed ICE to use Buckley's space forces base in Colorado for retaining undocumented migrants arrested by federal deportation officials.

Trump said he wanted to “clean” the gas and press the millions of Palestinians living there in neighboring countries.
There is a name for this – ethnic cleansing – and this is a war crime.
This outrageous idea must be condemned by every American.https://t.co/ho2b7wc3yf

Laken Riley Act: Trump is ready to sign the first bill of his new administration on Wednesday. He was named after a nursing student in Georgia, who was killed by Jose Antonio Ibara, an underdeveloped Venezuelan migrant in the United States. Trump made her kill some of his election campaign, during which he linked crime immigration, although crime data shows that immigrants commit less crimes from US citizens.
Once signed, the legislation will require federal authorities to “retain an individual who (1) is illegally present in the US or did not have the necessary documents when applying for admission; and (2) has been charged, arrested, convicted or admits to having committed actions that represent the basic elements of burglary, theft, theft or theft of theft. “
Republican senator Katie Britt, who supported the legislation, claims: “If you enter illegally and commit a crime, you should not be free to walk the streets.”
Robert u Kennedy Jr.: The Trump nominated to lead the Ministry of Health and Human Services will face his first hearing at Congress on Wednesday, as senators are considering appointing his appointment. Kennedy must appear first to the Senate Finance Committee. He must receive votes from the majority of senators in order to be confirmed that he is heading the department that covers federal health agencies.
Caroline Kennedy, a member of the political family of the United States to whom the two belonged, called on the senators on Tuesday to reject his nomination, calling her a cousin “predator” and his views in healthcare “dangerous”. Robert F Kennedy Jr. is a vaccination campaign.
Immigatory application: The administration is expected to continue to implement its initiatives to implement immigration. As of January 20, the day Trump had been sworn in, over 4,000 were arrested.
