The unknown status of Morel a ppv obstacle, says Hearn

Eddie Hurn promoter predicts that this Saturday event David Benavides against David Morel will not succeed on PPV in PBC on Prime Video on February 1st. Hearn says he was not “sold at the T-Mobile Arena Gate” in Las Vegas.

Morel's unknown

The six-year-old Pro Morrell (11-0, 9 KOS) is not well known to fans to make them want to buy the event when you pay for a watch. Morel had exceptional amateur credentials while in the Cuban national team, but he was not seen enough by American fans to sell the event.

Hearn states that the 27 -year -old Morel is not known by the fans, which will harm the success of PPV. Benavides needed a more famous fighter to get the purchases.

What Hearn leaves is that Benavides is not a PPV withdrawal. And while Hardcore Boxing fans know him well, he is not a big name among casual fans and he is not an attraction of PPV. Benavides did not score large PPV numbers for his battles against Caleb Plant and Demetrius Andrade. These are the biggest names in his 12-year summary.

Benavides would be a far more popular fighter if he moved 175 years ago, instead of staying at 168, chasing a battle against Canelo Alvarez. This is the reason why he stays in super average weight all these years. Benavides hoped to get a lucrative fight against Canelo, but that never happened.

“I'll tell you something right now. Not much and has not sold very well at the gate, “Eddie Hearn told Pro boxing fans When asked how much PPV buys David Benavides' event against David Morel in PBC Prime Video This Saturday night.

“What I will tell you is that this is a fantastic battle. The problem is with this battle that no one knows who David Morel is and it's a really good battle, “Hearn said.

Can they sell?

Undercard Benavidez-Morrell includes two excellent matches: WBC Champion Brandon Figueroa against Stephen Fulton in Revenge and former WBA Light Champion 'Pitbull' Cruz against Angel Fierro. However, these two competitions are not large enough to compensate for the lack of recognition of a name for Benavides vs. Morel Main event.

Unfortunately, the 175 pound division has no popular fighters except Arthur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol. These guys are already bound.
