Kyiv's latest attack against Russia's critical infrastructure hits the second oil refinery in space per week.
Russian oil refinery in the southern region of Volgograd ignited after being struck by debris from a Ukrainian drone attack.
Regional governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed the attack overnight, saying on Friday that the blast was “immediately repaid” and an early worker was hospitalized.
The attack was the most recent salto of Ukraine in its campaign For the destruction of refineries, oil depots and industrial sites that underlie Russia's military efforts.
Andri Kovalenko, Head of Ukraine Center for Combating Disinformation, identified the Volgograd refinery as one of the largest in Russia.
Earlier this week, Kiev claims to have hit and set fire to Refinery Lukol in the Low Novgorod area east of Moscow. Attack with drones last week forced Rafinery in Raizan, southeast of Moscow, to stop operations.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday that 49 Ukrainian drones were removed overnight, including 25 in the South Rostov area and eight in the Volgograd area.
The attack is Odessa
At night, Russia released a droon of drones in the southern Odessa in Ukraine, injuring four people in the town of Choromorsk, according to the regional governor Oleh Kiper.
The attacks also partially violated the supply of electricity in the city and damaged their hospital, the administrative building, a grain warehouse, a house and several trucks, he said.
Meanwhile, the Air Force of Ukraine said its defense systems have removed 59 of 102 Russian drones overnight.
The attack came one day after the Russian drones killed nine people in a strike on an apartment block in the eastern Ukrainian city of sums.
Following the attack, Andrius Jermak, the head of the presidential service, accused Russia of launching Shahed drones accused of shrapnel, “increase the number of civil victims.”
Allegations of trading
On Friday, the investigating committee of Russia said it was investigating the murder of 22 people between September and November in an occupied Russian village. It says that the figure includes eight women who are said to have been raped before being killed.
Investigators said one of the Ukrainian soldiers, who were said to be responsible for the killings, was arrested in the western Kursk region, where Ukraine controlled dozens of border cities after the offensive launched last year.
Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of killing civilians as the conflict began nearly three years ago, with the latter claiming that Moscow's forces killed hundreds of civilians in the city of BunNear Kyiv.
Moscow rejected the allegations and accused Kiev of organizing the staff, a claim denied by several independent organizations to verify the facts and the media.
