Russia has illegally deported at least 20,000 Ukrainian children of occupied Crimea and Russia since 2022, under the guidance of evacuation and rehabilitation programs, said Ukraine's presidential councilor on children, Daria Herasimchuk. Ukraine managed to repatriate 1189 children with the support of humanitarian organizations and allies, she said.
Herasimchuk also claims that Moscow has violated the Geneva Convention with its attempts to mobilize Ukrainian teenage boys in the Russian military. The War Study Institute said Russia used “rehabilitation” and “evacuation” camps in Crimea to indoctrinate and militarize Ukrainian children.
Policy and diplomacy
Russian President Vladimir Putin said they were not inviting Moscow to the Auschwitz liberation events was “strange” and “shameful”. Putin also said that the issue could be processed more and that the relatives of the Soviet soldiers who released the camp could be invited if it was not possible to invite soldiers due to health or age.
Putin also praised the political style of US President Donald Trump, saying that the recently introduced president would return the European elite in accordance. He said that this would happen very soon and that “they will be on their master's heel and wave their tails well.”
Trump's Ukraine in Ukraine Keith Kellog said that both Kiev and Moscow must be ready to compromise in order to negotiate a successful termination of the ongoing war. “I think both sides will give a little,” he said.

The Zelenski Communication Advisor, Dmitro Litun, said the US call for Kiev to hold an election after agreeing to end the fire with Moscow seemed like a “unsuccessful plan” if there was no more of it. He admitted that he did not see Kelloge's full interview on the subject, but said Ukraine would prefer a more in-depth approach.
Trump told reporters that conversations with Russia and Ukraine were going “pretty well”. He said meetings and conversations were scheduled with the respective countries, including Kiev and Moscow.
