Police claim that the Taliban security staff were among the killed in the still unsolicited attack.
A bomb explosion killed at least five people and injured seven in the northeastern Afghanistan, a report by local police.
The explosion took place at 8:35 am (04:05 GMT) on Tuesday near a branch of the Kabul bank in Kunduz province. No group has yet taken responsibility for the blast.
The bank guard and four others, including civilians and members of the Afghanistan Taliban Group, were among the killed, police said.
“A suicide assassin who improvised explosive devices has exploded,” notes Dzhumadin Haxar, a police spokesman in Kunduz province.
“The Kunduz Police Command works with the relevant organizations to find the perpetrators of the incident and bring them to court,” he added.
The number of bomb explosions and suicide attacks in Afghanistan has decreased significantly as the United States has withdrawn its forces and the government it supported was removed by the Taliban in August 2021.
However, many armed groups – including ISIL (ISIS) – remain a threatS
Dozens of people were killed in a suicide bombing At the Shea Mosque in Kunduz in October 2021, with the ISIL branch in Horassan province (ISKP) responsible.
Last March, a suicide assassin killed at least three people when he blown up a bomb in front of the Southern Kandahar, an attack claimed by the Isil regional head.
Despite continued attacks, the Taliban authorities say they have crushed the group mostly.
