People and power explore the reasons for the rise of the far right in Germany.
For the first time in the 1930s, the far right is on the threshold of a national electoral break in Germany. The February parliamentary elections were coming out, with the alternative to German (AFD) in the second with about 18-20 percent.
AFD is an anti-immigration, Anti-European Union, often pro-Puten and is observed by German intelligence agencies. Can dissatisfaction with the basic policy and economic stagnation cast a German far right party into real power for the first time after World War II? Most parties exclude power sharing with AFD. More than 100 MPs support AFD ban on “extremism”. But how long will the party be ostracized if it continues to grow in the popularity of the whole country?
