Officials said the makeshift explosive device had hit a vehicle carrying coal miners to the southwest of the country.
At least 10 people were killed and others were injured after a bomb hit a vehicle carrying workers in southwestern Pakistan.
A makeshift explosive device (IED) hit the truck when it was traveling in the Harnay area in Belokistan province on Friday, local officials said.
Security forces have struggled with decades of rebellion from separatist groups in the impoverished Belokistan, with violence in the border regions in the last three years.
“Ten Mina workers were killed in an attack in Harnay County,” AFP, Shahd Zahri, told a senior civil servant.
Officials said the vehicle carries coal miners and that most of the victims are from the northwestern valley of wedding and other regions of the country.
“A makeshift explosive device was planted on the road that exploded when coal miners driving trucks reached the site,” said the paramilitary employee to the Reuters news agency. The employee who refused to be identified adds that this may have been a remote device.
The official Saleem Saleem Tareen also said AFP was caused by IED, saying the victims were on the way to the market when the bomb was hit.
Deputy Commissioner of the Hazrat Wally Aha told Reuters that 17 miners were in the truck when the bomb was out.
Several people were injured and taken to a local hospital. A doctor at the restaurant told Reuters that two of the wounded were in critical condition.
Harnay is more than 160 km (100 miles) from Queta, the capital of Belokistan province.
In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed his “commitment to actively work to eradicate the threat of terrorism from the country”.

No group has taken responsibility for the attack.
However, the Belokistan Liberation Army (BLA) is the most active group in the region and often performs deadly attacks on security forces or Pakistanis from other provinces.
The group is also aimed at energy projects with foreign funding, accusing outsiders of the resource-rich region, while excluding residents in the poorest part of Pakistan.
Earlier this month, a vehicle carrying troops in a city in Belokistan was firing from 70 to 80 attackers who had blocked the road.
In another attack in January, at least six people, including Pakistani Paravilia, were killed and dozens of wounded in the attack.
Both attacks were stated by UAV.
Last year, in one of the most deadly attacks in the region, according to analysts, the separatist BLA fighters killed at least 39 people under “coordinated” attacks that largely directed ethnic Pendjabis.
Violence appeared in the border areas of Pakistan after the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
Pakistan has accused the Taliban government of not successfully removing fighters who have launched attacks from Afghan soil, an accusation that he denies.
Last year, it was the deadliest in a decade to Pakistan, with a jump in attacks that killed at least 1,500 people, including 685 police members or security forces, according to the Islamabad Research and Security Center.
