Tuareg's independence movement has accused soldiers and Russian mercenaries of killing civilians.
Mali's army has launched an investigation into the murder of civilians, which are said to have been in a rare human rights from soldiers and Russian mercenaries this week, as the military took power in 2020.
The Azavad Liberation Front, the Tuareg Movement for Independence, based on the northern part of the country, has accused the Malian soldiers and the Russian group of Wagner, which capture two civil vehicles bound by Algeria from the Eastern Malian city of Gao and “Cold Execution” at least 24 People among passengers on Monday.
Without referring to the killings on Wednesday, the Malian Armed Forces have struck “intoxicating campaigns” against the army. By Friday, the army announced it was opening an investigation into death.
According to Tuareg's independence movement earlier this week, one vehicle was set on fire until the other escapes with some survivors.
A member of the family of one of the vehicle drivers told the AFP news agency on Tuesday that a car had transported migrants.
“They came across a group of mercenaries of Wagner and some Malian soldiers who fired at them. In the first car, everyone died. My cousin too, ”they said on condition of anonymity.
However, the Limmy Ridge, a senior associate at the Political Center for the New South, Moroccan Brain Trust, told the Associated Press that an investigation into the army is unlikely to find guilt in the actions of soldiers or Russian mercenaries.
“The purpose of investigations will be more to counteract the allegations against (the army) and Wagner, instead of trying to find any misconduct from the latter. The conclusion of the investigation will probably be said that these allegations are false, “Limuri said.
Mali has been in crisis for more than a decade. In 2020, a military group rides on popular discontent with attacks by armed groups, seized power in a coup that was democratically elected president.
The military rulers of Mali, led by Colonel Assimi Goita, headed for the Russian group of mercenaries after interrupting ties with the former colonial ruler France.
In December, Human Rights Watch condemned the “atrocities” against civilians by the army and his Russian ally, as well as by groups related to Isil and al -Qaeda.
