Inequality, corruption and police brutality in Kenya | Television shows

In 2024, thousands of young Kenyans took to the streets to protest against the deepening crisis of the Land of Life and the controversial funding bill proposed by President William Ruto's government.

Authorities responded to protests with a brutal repression in which they killed dozens of Kenyans and wounded hundreds. In the meantime, an increasingly large number of abductions have shook the country – for which human rights groups claim to be the Kenyan police.

So, what is ahead for the country and its president?

Mehdi Hassan is going his head with Kimani Ichung'wa, the leader of the majority of the Kenyan National Assembly, according to President Ruto's rule, the government's pressing of disagreement and its economic crisis.

Joining the discussion are:
Awino Okech Professor for Feminist and Security Research at the University of London-Sauos
Irungu Houghton – CEO of Amnesty International Kenya
Moses Lantate – the leader of the Kenya Community in the Diaspora based in the UK.
