From Afghanistan to Germany, Ameni Karimi inspires Afghan girls while dreaming of flying to the moon.
Amena Carimine dreams of flying to the moon. As a civil engineer and self -taught astronomer in Afghanistan, she founded the astronomical club Kayhan. Using a handmade plane model, she encouraged young girls to reach for the stars.
After the Taliban returned to power, Amena was forbidden to teach and escape to Germany. Her dreams of becoming an astronaut seems almost in her conception. But she finds herself stuck between the gravity of her past, German bureaucracy and ambitions. As she continues to share her love for the planets and refuses to give up her dreams, Amena embarks on a mission to find her place on earth.
