The heavyweight clash between competitors Martin Bakol and Epo Ajagba was relocated to the Canelo Alvarez Cneader against William Scul on May 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Bakole-Ajagba was planned to initially fight the event on May 2 Times Square in New York. It makes sense to add the fight with the Canelo card. For obvious reasons, it must be reinforced to help attract interest. Have
Lance Pugmier from Boxingscene broke the news that Bakole-Ajagba was moved on May 3. Bacol (21-2, 16 CO) was knocked out in the second round of Joseph Parker Last month, entering as a late replacement on February 22 in Riyadh.
6'6 ″ Ajagba (20-1, 14 kos) is a much larger blow than Parker and there are concerns that it can mark a similar knockout on Bacol. This is a dangerous person that every fighter has to stand up with, as they get off a bad knockout.
If there are any prolonged effects on Bakol from the battle with Parker, Ajabag can benefit from it. Martin will not reject it. This is one of the events of the Riyadh season. So, he can't afford to tell him no.
Ajagba 30-year-old will be released from a 13-month dismissal after winning a dividing decision of 10 rounds over Guido Vianello last year on April 13. The Ajagba Olympian in 2016 won his last five matches after losing to Frank Sanchez with a 10-round unanimous decision on October 9, 2021. Ajagba was demolished in the seventh round of this match and hopelessly surpassed by Cuban talent.
Bacol Conditioning Problems
Martin had no training camp to prepare for the match, and went out of the 310 pounds. Parker takes advantage of the conditioning of Bacol and the slow movements to knock it out. The impact that Parker landed for a knockout shot was the one that Bacol didn't see coming because he threw his own right hand. It was a shot that he would usually do, but it caught him surprised.
This is a battle that Bakol could win if his weight was in the range of 270 to low 280, but not in 310 pounds. He injured Parker with a big right hand in the first round, but he couldn't finish it because of his poor condition.
Bacol may have been on his tour of the victory of his victory by knockout for the fifth round over Jared Anderson last August when he contacted he was Parker's deputy vice. He was in no shape to fight with anyone, let alone a contender from the top five like a parker. This is a lesson for fighters: you have to stay in shape between the battles.
