Barbose -Jr. seeks revenge: “Theophim Lopez will regret not fighting me years ago”

Arnold Barbosa, Jr., says he will make the WBO Light Champion Teofimo Lopez (21-1, 13 KOS) regret that he did not fight years ago when he challenged him for his belt on May 2 in their battle at Times Square in New York.

Years of waiting

Barbose Jr. (32-0, 11 CO) is still annoyed that it took him so much time to get the chance to cause Theophimo for his WBO belt because he has been high in the sanctioning organ for centuries. Lopez ignores his calls and chose to fight with the easier opposition. The best rank chose Theophimo's opposition, so they are partly to blame.

“I knew he didn't want to fight me for a reason. He fights boys like Camp and Claeth, boys who are not at my level. He is currently fighting me at the most possible moment he could. Then he had to fight me, “said Arnold Barbosa, Jr. Ring magazine On how Theophim Lopez has escaped it in the last three years of 2022.

Theophymo said yesterday that he did not avoid Barbose Jr. throughout the years. He said he was offered bigger matches against Josh Taylor, George Cambosos, Jr. and Vasily Lomachenko. However, this does not explain why Lopez chose to fight these guys instead of Barboza JR:

– Steve Claget
– jamaine ortiz
– Sandor Martin

Shortage

“Our train doesn't stop. We would be two of the best guys (Jack Katter and Jose Ramirez) for the last three, four and five months. It is on the way to be the third in the last seven months. Now I'm like an old school return fighter.

“I struggle to my opponent's level. Theo is supposed to be one of the best. People doubt me. That's good. I went to the Saudi part as a shortage, went to the United Kingdom as a shortage, and came to New York as insufficient. Many people make a lot of money from me, “said Barbosa, Jr.

Fans doubt Barbose Jr. because he is not as known as Theophimo. Due to his style of struggle, he was a headliner, but many people did not have the opportunity to see him.

Barbose's struggle against Jack Catar on February 15 was the first time in his twelve -year professional career, which was at the main event. All other Barboza JR matches are buried in the entrance, which prevented fans from seeing it. Most casual boxing fans only focus on headliners.

Top Rank did a good job of turning Teo into a minor star. He would have been much more popular than he was now, if he had remained busy, had not lost to Cambosos and was more open to focusing on fighters such as Ryan Garcia, Devin Hani, Shakur Stevenson and Kichane Davis.
