Israel is expected to send Doha delegation to negotiate the deal to extend the truce on Monday after Hamas had talks with Egyptian officials in Cairo.
Israel has confirmed that it will send a delegation to the capital of Qatar for conversations to extend the fragile ceasefire with Hamas.
On Saturday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that a Doha delegation would be sent on Monday in “Efforts of Progress in Negotiations”.
This comes after a Hamas team met with Egyptian officials in Cairo on Saturday to negotiate the second phase of the fire termination transaction.
“The delegation emphasized the need to adhere to all conditions of the agreement that have immediately proceeded to initiate negotiations for the second phase, open the border crossroads and allow the entry of assistance materials to the gas without any restrictions or conditions,” the statement said.
In earlier comments, Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Al Canua said a day earlier that “the indicators are positive about the start of the negotiations for the second phase.”
The first phase of the fire termination transaction ended on March 1, after six weeks exchanges, including 25 living Israeli captives held in Gaza to release 1800 Palestinians in Israeli prisons.
Israel said it wanted to expand the first stage of the agreement until mid -April, refusing to move to the second stage of the deal, which included a full end of the war and a complete withdrawal of its forces from Gaza.
Hamas, however, says he wants both sides to move to the second phase, as agreed.
In the meantime, he released the Israeli captives and families of those still in the gas, called on the government to move to the second stage of the deal and to prevent war.
During a protest in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening, Ainov Zangaker, a mother of Matan Zanguker, who was held in Gaza, accused Netanyahu of playing a “political game of chess” with captives.

“The war can be resumed in a week … Only an agreement that brings them at a time will guarantee their return,” she said.
Considering Jordan, Hamdal Salhut of Al Jazeera said the Israel's impetus to see an extension of phase one of the deal led to a blockade of desperately needed humanitarian aid.
“There is still so much pressure on Netanyahu by family members who blame the prime minister for extending the war for his personal and political profit,” she said.
Against the backdrop of the negotiations, Israel continued his deadly attack on Gaza, killing at least three Palestinians on Saturday.
The Palestinians in Gaza also fight under the blockade of aid, which worsened a terrible humanitarian crisis against the backdrop of the Muslim sacred month of Ramadan.
Rafa is a target of intense Israeli attacks from tanks and drones as of Friday night, with firing affecting residential areas, including Al-Jain, Ash-Shauka and Tal As-Sultan, the Palestinian News Agency WAFA reported.
According to the Ministry of Health of Gaza, at least 48 453 Palestinians were killed and 111 860 wounded by Israeli attacks on October 7, 2023.
