Passengers evacuate after the aircraft of American Airlines ignites in Denver | Aviation News


Twelve passengers were treated for minor injuries after Airliner's engine caught fire when landing.

More than 170 passengers and six crews were evacuated after the American Airlines airplane engine – output of Colorado Springs – ignited when landing in Denver.

The incident unfolded on Thursday after the Boeing 737-800 aircraft diverted from its destination in Dallas and landed in Denver around 5:15 pm local time (23:15 GMT) in response to reports of engine vibration from the crew on board.

“After landing safely and a taxi to the Denver International Airport Gate (DEN), American Airlines Flight 1006 exams about engine problem,” the airline said.

According to the airline, all 172 passengers and six crew members safely evacuate the aircraft and were moved to the terminal. Twelve passengers with minor injuries have been reported to have been taken to a local hospital for a lower assessment.

Dramatic images show that passengers are boarded by emergency doors and the wings of the aircraft.

This is the second recent aviation incident featuring an aerican Airlines aircraft.
