Chihombori-Quao: USAID was a “wolf in sheep clothing” in Africa | Donald Trump

Former African Union ambassador to the United States says the US Government Aid Agency had a “main intervention program” throughout Africa.

It is by no means a tragedy for Africa, the death of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the hands of President Donald Trump's administration should be the reason for celebration, according to Arikana Chichombi, former Ambassador of the African Union to the United States.

Chihombori-Quao tells the host Steve Clemons that USAID will not show much about its decades of education and health projects in Africa and often destabilized countries under the guise of the environment, human rights or social justice program.

And if the US is not interested in Africa, African leaders should not ask for better relations, she said. “It takes two for tango,” the former diplomat said.
