Struggle
- A Russian rocket struck a residential area in the Ukrainian city of Krivi Rich, injuring 11 people, including two children, said the governor of Denpropetrovsk, Sergius Lisak. Several residential buildings, homes and a building have been damaged in many businesses, according to Lisak.
- The Russian far -right paramilitary operational Jan Petrovski was sentenced to life in a Finnish court after being convicted of four war crimes in Ukraine. The court found that he had killed a soldier and shared the humiliating images of the victim.
- The largest private energy supplier in Ukraine, DTEK, said the Russian strikes had caused “significant” damage to their energy facilities in Denipropetrovska and Odessa. Some residents in the regions are reported to have been left without power due to attacks.
- The Kiev Air Force said Moscow had fired 178 drones overnight, of which about 130 were removed until another 38 disappeared and did not reach their goals.
- The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces had removed 126 Ukrainian drones on an attack overnight on Friday, aimed at the Volgograd and Voronezh regions. This happened after Moscow rejected an immediate cessation of the fire proposed by the United States.
- The Ukrainian Air Force said they had removed 47 of 90 Russian drones in an attack overnight. Another 33 drones are reported to have been lost due to the electronic war.
- The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that its troops are rebuilding the villages of Rubanshina and Zelechenka in the area of the West Kursk. The current regional governor Alexander Hinchtein said 371 civilians were evacuated for safety from these areas, including 14 children.
- Russia has started a drone attack overnight against Kiev early on Monday, Ukraine's air defense departments said. Additional details were not available.
Policy and diplomacy
- US President Donald Trump has said he will talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday about ending the war in Ukraine.
- Putin has called on Ukrainian troops fighting in Kursk to surrender, stating that they will be guaranteed a “life and decent treatment”. He said he had made a call for “sympathy” after Trump called him to “spare” the life of the Ukrainian soldiers.
- Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said the topic of territorial control would be a key focus of any ceasefire. However, he said that Ukraine would not recognize its occupied regions as parts of Russia.
- The United Kingdom Prime Minister Kayer Starmer, accusing Putin of not being serious about peace talks, said Russia would have to come to the table sooner or later. “If Putin is serious about peace, I think it's very simple, he has to stop his barbaric attacks against Ukraine and agree to the cessation of fire and the world is watching,” he said.
- Zelenski also accused Russia of not interested in ending the war, emphasizing the ongoing attacks against Kiev.
- He appointed an official delegation to present Kyiv in future peace talks. The Presidential Head of Staff Andri Jermak was appointed head of the delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Andri Sibiha, the Minister of Defense Rustem Musrov and Deputy Paul Pavlo.
- Zelenski has also appointed Major General Andren Hnatov as the new head of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Forces, said Musrov.

- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the upcoming stages in negotiations to end the war.
