Israel Ben-Gvir to join the Netanyahu government | Israel-Palestine News on Conflict


The Israeli hardliner resigned in January in protest of the Gaza Fire Termination deal.

Former Israeli National Security Minister Itar Ben-Gvir, who has left the government because of disagreements about cessation Gaza will re -join the coalition of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Ben-Gvir Party of Otsma Yehudit (Jewish rule) and the Netanyahu Likad Party announced on Tuesday, hours after Israel began its deadliest Israeli strikes on Gaza after the fire was stopped in January.

“Likud and Otsma Yehudit have agreed that OCMA Yehuddite's faction will return to the Israeli government today, and OCMA Jehudi ministers will return to the government,” the countries said in a joint statement.

Ben-Gvir's return It will strengthen the coalition government, which remained only with a subtle parliamentary majority after its departure in January.

The 47-year-old lawyer and a politician, who led the Otsma Yehudit party or the Jewish rule of 2019, resigned in January in protest of the Gaza ceasefire.

Ben-Gvir also said in January that humanitarian aid and fuel, electricity and water must be “completely stopped” to enter the torn Palestinian enclave to force the release of captives that remain held by Hamas, the Palestinian group that rules the gas.

“Only then will Hamas release our hostages without endangering Israel's security,” he said.

Israel resumed Gaza's air strikes overnight on Monday, breaking the fire termination agreement with Hamas.

Netanyahu said he ordered the military to take “strong action” against Hamas because of his refusal to release captives taken from Israel or Agree to offers to extend the cessation of fire.

The Israeli military told Telegram that he was conducting “extensive blows on terrorist purposes” belonging to Hamas, and over 400 Palestinian people were killed.

Many residents of the two million plus gas are also faced with food and water shortages after Israel blocked humanitarian assistance and other supplies to Gaza in early March.
