Russia and Ukraine have exchanged 372 Pupils in the UAP, concluded by the United Arab Emirates, as US President Donald Trump said he had a “very good” telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that Moscow was returning 175 soldiers and “22 seriously wounded prisoners of military in need of emergency medical care”, which is said to be a “goodwill gesture”. It says that Kyiv returned 175 Russian troops.

Zelenski confirmed the swap and wrote to X that it was the “one of the largest” exchanged since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine in February 2022.

“I thank our team for their important work in finding Ukrainian prisoners of war and facilitating the exchange, as well as the results that bring hope.

The exchange is coming as Trump and Zelenski have a phone call a day after the US President has called Russian President Vladimir Putin as he seeks to mediate in a truce in the war.

In a social media publication after the conversations, Trump said he had a “very good” appeal with Zelenski and that efforts to negotiate the termination of fire at the invasion of Russia were “very on the way”.

The purpose of the call was “to align with both Russia and Ukraine with regard to their demands and needs,” Trump added, saying that he asked for US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Walz to provide further details of the conversation in an upcoming statement.

During Trump's discussion with Putin on Tuesday, the Russian leader agreed not to target the energy infrastructure, but declined to support the full 30-day termination of fire.

Prior to his call with Trump, Zelenski said that Putin's vow was “much contrary to reality” after a barrage at night of Russian drones in Ukraine.

“Even last night, after Putin's conversation with… Trump, when Putin said he supposedly he was ordered to stop the strikes of Ukrainian energy, there were 150 drones released overnight, including in energy facilities,” Zelenski said at a press conference in Helsinki with Finnish President Alexander Stub.

Dozens of attacks

Ukrainian military said Russia has fired 145 drones and air defenses are overthrown 72 of them.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that one person had been killed and two hospitals were damaged during Russian strikes, which also pulled out the power of some of the country's railways.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said its air protection destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones.

In the southern Russian region of Krasnodar, the authorities said that the Ukrainian drone attack had caused a fire in an oil house near the village of Caucasus and no one was injured.
