China launches five detainees from the US Mintz Group check company | Business and Economics News


The company says it is “grateful” to Chinese authorities for the release of local staff after two years in detention.

China has released five employees of the company for proper inspection Mintz Group after nearly two years in detention, US -based company said.

The Chinese authorities detained five local officials in March 2023, marking the beginning of a series of raids for foreign consultations and companies for proper inspection, including Bain & Company and Capvision Partners.

The Chinese National Statistics Bureau announced later that year that Mintz Group, which has its headquarters in New York, were fined $ 1.5 million to undertake “statistical investigations related to abroad” without the necessary approval.

“We understand that the employees of Mintz Group Beijing, who were detained, all Chinese citizens, have now been released,” said a Mintz Group spokesman in a statement made on multiple media on Tuesday.

“We are grateful to the Chinese authorities that our former colleagues can now be home to their families.”

The release of employees follows the completion of the Chinese Development Forum, which has long served as a Beijing platform to promote the country of foreign investors.

This year's edition of the forum, which ended on Monday, was attended by dozens of best business leaders, including Tim Cook from Apple, Albert Burla of Pfizer and Amin Nasser of Saudi Aramco.

By speaking on a two -day gathering on Sunday, Chinese Prime Minister Li Kiang promised to expand the access to the market for foreign investors and called on companies to oppose the growing rush of protectionism.

“In today's increasingly fragmented world with increasing instability and insecurity, it is more necessary for countries to open their markets and businesses … to oppose the risks and challenges,” Li said.

The Mintz Group, which specializes in inspections and investigations of fraud disorders and at work, has more than 280 investigators in 12 offices in 11 countries, according to its website.
