South Sudan on the edge of the renovated Civil War, the UN warns | News of the United Nations organization

The construction of tension and violence threatens to unravel the peace deal that stopped the ethnic conflict in 2018.

South Sudan is on the edge of an updated Civil war As the violence between competing factions escalating, the United Nations warned.

The situation in the country is “Terrible” Nicholas High, head of the UN mission in South Sudan (Unmiss), late on Monday, as a tension between powers, allied with President Salva Kiir and those of Vice President Rick Machar continues to be built.

Efforts to negotiate a peaceful deal would only be possible if Kiir and Mahar were able to “put the interests of their people in front of their own,” said the UN employee, warning that the misinformation and speech of hatred were moving ethnic hatred and provoking the increasing violence, which has displaced tens of thousands.

Southern Sudan, the most jenky country in the world, fell into a bloody civil war shortly after winning independence in 2011, as the forces were aligned with Kiir, Ethnic Dink, fought with loyalty to Mahar, ethnic Newer.

The conflict died over 40,000 people before the peace deal in 2018, when the couple formed a government of national unity. However, the tension flared once more.

A group of fighters known as the White Army, who are believed to be related to the Machar, overcame a military base in the Diir County, the Northeast State of Gorna Nile, earlier in March.

In response, South Sudan soldiers surrounded the Machar's home in the capital, Juba, and arrested several of his allies. Meanwhile, the military is also aimed at communities in the upper Nile with air strikes, Hayesom said.

“These indiscriminate attacks against civilians cause significant casualties and horrific injuries, especially burns,” the UN official said, adding that approximately 63,000 people had been displaced due to fighting.

“Considering this gloomy situation, we are left with another conclusion besides judging that South Sudan deals with the edge of relapse in the Civil War,” he said.

The UN employee has warned that Kiir and Mahar have a little confidence that the other will comply with the terms of the peace deal.

Elections that were to be held in 2023 have already been postponed twice and are now not scheduled by 2026.

“Gratory misinformation, misinformation and hate speech also enhance tension and stimulate ethnic divisions and fear,” Hissam concluded.

Unmiss is working to prevent a new civil war and participates in “Intensive Diplomacy of shuttle” with regional partners, including the African Union, he noted.
