The evidence is a “coordinated campaign to delete the Palestinian life in Gaza,” the chairman of the committee said.
Israel has committed the crime against humanity of “extermination” by attacking the Palestinian civilians who have sheltered in schools and religious sites in Gaza, according to a report by the Independent Nations Commission.
The UN Independent International Committee on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including Eastern Jerusalem and Israel, makes the charge of report Issued on Tuesday.
The report also states that the Israeli forces have committed war crimes, “including directing attacks on civilian and deliberate murders, in their attacks on educational facilities that have caused civilian victims.”
“We are seeing more and more indications that Israel is conducting a agreed campaign to delete the Palestinian life in Gaza,” said the chairman of the Commission, Navi Pilee, a former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said in statementS
The report states that Israel has damaged or destroyed more than 90 percent of the school and university buildings in Gaza and has destroyed more than half of all religious and cultural sites in the territory.
“While the destruction of cultural property, including educational facilities, has not been a genocidal act in itself, evidence of such behavior can still make a genocidal intention to destroy a protected group,” the report said.
“The direction of Israel for the educational, cultural and religious life of the Palestinian people will harm the current generations and generations to come, making their right to self -determination,” Pilay continued.
While the report focuses on the impact on gas, the Commission also reported significant consequences for the Palestinian education system in the occupied West Coast and East Jerusalem as a result of increased Israeli military activity, harassment of students and attacks of settlers.
“The children in Gaza have lost their childhood. Without an available education, they are forced to worry about the survival of the background of attacks, insecurity, hunger and living conditions,” says Pilay.
“What is particularly disturbing is the widespread nature of directing educational facilities, which have expanded far beyond gas, affecting all Palestinian children.”
The report will be officially submitted to the UN Human Rights Council on June 17th.
Israel withdrew from the Council in February after accusing him of bias.
A Gaza Commission's previous report published in March has accused Israel in performing “genocidal acts” by destroying reproductive health facilities.
This prompted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accuse the advice of being “anti -Semitic, corrupt, supporting terrorism and inappropriate body.”
