At least eight people have been reported to have been killed in one of the oldest mass shootings in the country.
Several people were killed in a School In the Austrian city of Graz, according to media reports.
Police said on Tuesday morning that they were located at the Borg Dreierschutzengasse school after shots reports.
They announced that they had provided the premises.
“No more danger is expected,” police said in a publication at X.
The Federal Ministry of the Interior said there were several casualties, but did not specify the number. The Austrian media suggested that at least eight people were killed.
Grace Mayor Elke Carr said the shooter was among the dead, according to the Austrian press agency.
The Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung announced that for the first time shots were heard at the school around 10am (08:00 GMT) and the attack was held in two classrooms.
The media has identified the attack as one of the oldest mass shootings in the country.
Graz, the second largest city in Austria, is located in the southeastern part of the country and has a population of about 300,000 people.
