Chris Eubank Sr. shares his thoughts on his son's chances against Connor Benn in their rematch

The rematch between Chris Eubank Jr and Connor Benn now it's only days away.

The two British stars clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday 15 Novemberseven months after their first meeting in the same place.

After an entertaining 12-round back-and-forth battle in April, It was Eubank Jr. who came out on top, defeating his opponent by unanimous decision.

The winner spent days in hospital after the bout, later revealing he was suffering from “severe dehydration”.

One person who was extremely critical of the initial bout was Chris Eubank Sr., believing his son was dangerously handicapped by competing at middleweight and was restricted to a 10lbs rehydration clause on the morning of the fight.

Despite his criticism, Eubank senior chose to support his son by appearing in the last minute of the fight, and the former two-division world champion – who faced Conor's father Nigel twice in the 1990s – is due to be present again for the rematch.

Speaking on his YouTube channel before the second bout, Eubank Sr. was asked if he believed age could play a big factor in the bout.

“It's possible. It depends on the life Junior has lived. If you've lit the candle at the wrong end, then it will show in the fight. If he's been strict with himself, then he can be okay.”

Junior recently revealed that his father would rather see him retire than compete again.

Aged 36 and Ben seven years younger at 29, many fans are wondering the same as the British fighting legend – will the turnaround from their first fight be a big factor in next week's rematch?
