Mike Tyson says 'nobody has a chance' to beat reigning world champion: 'He's so underrated'

Mike Tyson believes that a current world champion has what it takes to go undefeated throughout his career.

Many boxing fans thought the same thing could happen when Tyson was in the early stages of his professional career, climbing the rankings with 19 consecutive knockout victories, 12 of them in the first round.

This led to 'Iron Mike' becoming the youngest boxer ever to be world heavyweight champion when he knocked out Trevor Berbick at the age of 20, before going on to claim undisputed honours.

Although he would eventually suffer his fair share of defeats as his career progressed, Tyson looked unbeatable for much of his time in the ring and feels like the current WBC Light Heavyweight Champion David Benavidez also possesses these qualities.

Speaking of ESNewsTyson said he would back Benavidez to beat any opponent ever put in front of him.

“I like him against everybody. He's so underrated but so polarizing here. Listen, I'd be scared to fight him too if I was in this division. Nobody even has a chance against him, I'm talking facts.”

Benavidez currently holds an undefeated record of 30-0, 24 of those victories coming by knockout, having been a two-time world champion at super middleweight before moving up a division and winning world honors at 175lbs.

He has defeated Alexander Gvozdyk and David Morrell since moving up to featherweight and will be looking to extend his unbeaten run when he defends his WBC belt against Anthony Yarde in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 22.
